Developing Electronic Health Record (EHR) Clinician Workflow and Process Strategy:

Carl Anthony Osborne provides expertise and experience in developing/laying out the workflow for all positions impacted by your organization's electronic health record.  With knowledge in general clinician workflow (Physician, Nursing, Therapies, Case Managers, and Ancillary) in Emergency, Acute, Critical Care, Behavioral Health, and Rehab venues that can assist with detailed future-state workflow process design of end-user interaction with the EHR application.  With proven methodologies and deep domain expertise, Carl can help your organization get the most from its EHR systems by focusing on clinical workflows, revenue cycles, technology, and analytics.  After obtaining data on your current organization’s workflows and regulatory requirements, Mr. Osborne can apply his knowledge of the system capabilities and development needs to create a resulting workflow that can broadly support a given requirement in the industry across clients. Carl will also be responsible for leading client interaction, including presenting development work, working with testing partners for feedback and issue resolution, and managing escalations from live clients.

Electronic Health Record Applications Design/Build and System Maintenance:

Design and build system functionality within your organization's EHR reflected from approved workflows.  Carl’s expertise in various build tools makes Him a resource in building orders, documentation, end-user interfaces, and data elements within the EHR.  Carl can resolve your organization's EHR application concerns raised during installation, operation, maintenance, or product application, along with identifying compatibility matters. As an experienced EHR applications analyst, Mr. Osborne can assist with diagnosing problems and coordinating the appropriate additional resources to determine and deliver resolution.

  • Design and Build Physician/ Nursing Documentation within EHR

  • Knowledge of Cerner Model Experience Playbooks (mPages, Smart Templates, Dynamic Documentation Note Templates, and Order Sets)

  • Experience in monitoring the most popular Help Desk ticket systems (Service Now, PeopleSoft, Spiceworks, Zendesk) and Triage EHR end user issues.

  • Cross-train organization employees on building and maintaining EHR.

Health IT mobile application design and development :

Developed mobile applications using HL7 (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) FHIR APIs and integrated them with third-party applications on iOS and Android platforms. He has designed and developed multiple applications and interfaces conforming to HL7 / FHIR standards. Carl is recognized as a subject matter expert in FHIR and is a four-time clinical application developer award winner who has a passion for analyzing current systems and processes, which involves working with Patients and Clinicians to design, develop, test and deploy applications.

EHR Education and Classroom/Virtual Trainer:

Experience in providing a workflow-focused learning solution per your organization’s specific needs, Carl generally starts with conducting a training needs assessment and gap analysis of your workflow. This process includes identifying key performance indicators to measure and show value to the organization/department. Mr. Osborne then develops a curriculum and supporting content, including picking the appropriate mix of delivery channels for the audience, such as instructor-led training, virtual instructor-led training, e-learning (traditional, micro, mobile), videos, and job aids.
